"We should pity less and judge more". That was the statement of the police officer involved in the Shannon Matthews case today. It was the closing sentence on the Panorama special on BBC1.
I know what he means, but I think "judge" is the wrong word. I would have said that we should expect more.
We should all expect much more of ourselves.
