It's when you see something on this scale that you realize how big an impact climate change is going to have on ordinary people. I can hardly imagine how it will feel to be part of a modern exodus. The nearest I can think of is the Chagos Islanders that were thrown off Diego Garcia (illegally) by Britain to make way for the US air base there. The move all but destroyed their society and culture.
