From the National Review today:
"Some of the very personal and often uncharitable criticism of vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin and her family may have a relationship to the collective grief, shame, and guilt from personal involvement in the abortion of an unborn child."
I'm not even prepared to link to this drivel, but the short fragment above gives something of the flavour of the rag concerned. Unfortunately, it also gives a flavour a significant part of the US Republican base, and the nonsense they will swallow, apparently without question. They are the people that hang around aborton clinics screaming "baby killer" at vunerable women, who look the other way when doctors are murdered, who call for the forced "treatment" of homosexuals, who claim that man and dinosaur walked the earth together. I could go on...
The worst thing John McCain has done in this election, is to pander to them and their constituency by choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate.
