I'm sitting here in Canada watching the US (and recently) Canadian elections on TV, and thinking how tame politics has become. I grew up in the UK in the 70's and 80's and I remember two coal strikes, one of which brought down the government, anti-racist rallies, gay rights rallies, CND rallies, student protests. With the exception of the build up to the Iraq war, and (briefly) the fuel protests, which did mobilize people, we have an incredibly tame populace that seems unable and unwilling to stand up and be counted.  Even if I look just at the students of my own university, there is little activism of any kind.

What happened?

So, harking back to a more active time. here's the Tom Robinson Band and "Don't take no for an answer".
