McCain/Palin are claiming that "Spreading the wealth around", proves that Obama is a socialist, and that in itself is a bad thing. If only.
Actually it's a particularly barmy argument. Spreading the wealth around is exactly what all governments do. Not everyone pays tax, but they still get defended by the army; they still get protection from the police and fire brigades; their children still go to school; they still get the right to vote. And more... All those things cost money, and the government spreads the wealth around to cover it.
Stupid people, stupid argument.

I agree. The bailout Bush et al just did of our baking system would more accurately be described as socialism. Its the Red Scare all over again. We Americans never learn...btu who knows, maybe we will elect a half decent president for once.
