You know you're in (North) America when you have to sign away your rights to sue for personal injury when you get your hair cut...
For something to blog about, I went for a haircut at the Voila Institute of Hair Design (a hair dressing school) here in Kitchener, Ontario. Well I needed the haircut, and I thought the school might be fun. And it was. The students were a lot more attentive to the job than some professional I've encountered; I even got a free hand massage. If you don't mind a student practicing on you, I can thoroughly recommend it.
It was the disclaimer that had me laughing. I could understand one that said that I accept that the haircut might not be perfect, but I also had to sign to say that I wouldn't sue even for serious personal injury. What a litigious world we live in.

I know, it's frightening. Although, when I was a child my Mum just popped a bowl on my head and cut around the rim. The results were interesting to say the least. Ah imagine if Mum's did that to the kids today. They'd all sue!!
